These individuals pose as representatives from utility companies or other official entities, attempting to deceive residents into providing personal information or money. 🔨 Development
A new hotel is set to be constructed in Tallinn's Pirita district, aiming to enhance the area's appeal to both tourists and residents. The development is part of ongoing efforts to revitalize the seaside neighborhood, known for its natural beauty and historical significance. Plus, a new housing project has been approved in Lasnamäe, and the former state owned courthouse in Liivalaia 24 will be demolished and replaced with a new quite tall residential/commercial building. 🚘 Car Tax
The Estonian government has announced a new car tax relief measure aimed at supporting families with children. Under the proposal, families will receive a €100 discount per child annually on their car tax bill. This initiative is part of the Reform Party and Eesti 200's coalition agreement, reflecting their commitment to easing financial burdens on families (the coalition is the same that created the car tax). 📖 Festival
The 43rd Tallinn Old Town Days festival is set to take place from June 6–8, featuring over 200 events across the city. This year's theme honors the Year of the Estonian Book, highlighting Estonia's literary heritage. The festival kicks off with a free concert by the folk-rock trio Trad. Attack! and includes guided tours, live performances, and a handicraft market on Niguliste Street. A special highlight is the Tallinn City Archives' exhibition of rare historical documents, including Estonia's oldest known document from 1237 and the earliest surviving Estonian-language book from 1535. ⚡️ Energy
Utilitas has commenced the construction of Estonia's first large-scale heat pump plant in Paljassaare, Tallinn. This pioneering facility will utilize thermal energy from treated wastewater and seawater to produce heat for the city's district heating network.
